BIG UPDATE > > > The NEW PMC Website is OPEN for Browsing
Peoria Motorcycle Club launched its new website on April 27, 2013. The new website is NOT 100% complete, but it provides everything you need regarding current events, such as the 2013 Schedule, Online Ticket Sales, Social Media Links and Google Maps for finding directions to PMC Race Park.
The existing site - where you are right now - still contains content that hasn't been moved yet. (Sorry for the time it's taking to complete this, but the web editor has a day job too... and now that spring is here, he needs time to ride his motorcycle just like everyone else.) If you come across a page on the new site than doesn't have content, you should still be able to find it here,
IF you would like a little more explanation -we're sure you'll have questions otherwise - please read the next few TIPS regarding the transition.
> Items we still need to move to the new website include descriptions of the public events we hold (1 description down, 3 to go), ride information, past race results (3 of 8 listings are complete), past race photos, links to legislative news and special information for racers and vendors (last three are still at ground zero).
> The MEMBERS ONLY page is not complete. In fact, it's barely started. Our HIGHEST PRIORITY is customers... YOU, our race fans and future guests. Club members will continue to use this website - peoriatt.net - for that information, until everything else is done. NOTE to Members: If you want to try the Members page on the new website, the Password is the same as it is here.
> This website will remain active until everything is done. As content moves to the new website, it will disappear from this one. You'll start to notice a shorter menu on this site. Once the move is 100% complete, the web address for this site - peoriatt.net - will begin pointing to the new site.
There you go! Be sure to check out our new pages and add the site to your Favorites. Remember to check in here on occasion, while we continue to make the transition.
To make sure the our website and our Facebook page are aligned, and to provide features that are available only to Facebook business pages, we are conducting a transition there as well. We have an obscure FB business page that has seen a little traffic - 500+ Likes. The reason is, the club also has a FB personal page that is managed by one of our members. And that one has been very, very popular.
The FB personal page is titled, Peoria MotorcycleClub, with no space between the last two words. It is a great place to share photos, old Peoria TT stories, race results, etc. The problem is the page is maxed out at the limit of 5,000Friends. To overcome that limit and to stay within Facebook's policies regarding the use of personal pages to run a business or promote an organization, we need to migrate to a FB business page.
Reaching out to fans through a FB business page will also permit us to off special promotions and post registrations for prize drawings. Because we already have a business page, we are now steering Facebook users to it, at Peoria Motorcycle Club. You may have noticed that the title is spelled with three separate words. The easiest way to go there is to click on the underlined hyperlink. Facebook will open in another window, so you can easily return here.
There's no need to stop using the FB personal page. If you're a Friend of that page, go ahead and continue the relationship. We simply ask that you also go to the FB business page and "Like" it. There's a good chance we'll have the same information on both pages, but checking both is never a bad idea. Keep your eyes open on the business page, for new promotional offers and registrations for prize drawings.
Video by Bell Helmets, Provides a Great Overview of Our AMA Grand National TT
Bell Helmets produced an excellent video about PMC's Grand National Championship TT race. This is a concise, 4-minute story that features two of the top riders in the sport; Henry Wiles, who has now won this event eight years in a row, and Jared Mees, who ended the racing season as the 2012 AMA Pro Flat Track Champion.
This short video offers a glimpse inside each rider's race day, as they interact with fans, prepare their bikes and equipment, and of course, race motorcycles!
This is probably the best video summary available, to share the spirit and excitement of a PMC TT.
